Credit Regulations
Masters Course: 4 Common Major Subjects (4 x 3 Hours = 12 Hours : 50% of Full Credit) 4 Optional Major Subjects (4 x 3 Hours = 12 Hours : 50% of Full Credit)
PhD Course: 6 Common Major Subjects* (6 x 3 Hours = 18 Hours: 50% of Full Credit) 6 Optional Major Subjects (6 x 3 Hours = 18 Hours: 50% of Full Credit)
Only the students who have already completed the four common major subjects after earning a masters degree from the Graduate School of East-West Medical Science can complete two common major subjects in a PhD course and the remaining credit hours must be fulfilled by taking classes in optional major.
Masters and PhD students who have chosen the CP course must complete all the recommended optional subjects in the CP course in the respective semester.
Common major credit hours must be earned by taking one of the classes in the Department of Medical Nutrition.
Up to 6 credit hours (masters students) and 9 credit hours (PhD students) earned from another department (East-West Medical Science, College of Oriental Medicine, Department of Nutrition Science, Department of Pharmacy, Department of Herbal Pharmacology, etc...) can be added to the degree credit.
Exceptionally, during monitoring the progress of the graduate students, some students upon approval, may register additional graduate course (assigned by the Graduate Student Advisor) for satisfactory dissertation research.

Major Exam Subjects
Major Exam (Masters Degree in Medical Nutrition): Choose three subjects from the traditional common subjects that you have taken.
Major Exam (PhD Degree in Medical Nutrition): Choose four subjects from the traditional common subjects that you have taken.
 
Other Department Regulations
Students taking a CP course
Pursuant to Article 5 of Regulation No. 34 of the Graduate School of East-West Medical Science, students taking a CP course may have to pay an additional tuition fee upon the decision of the committee and Dean for the purpose of paying for expenses arising from the new field training program, and applicants for the field training program who fail to pay the tuition fee will not be eligible to participate in the program.
Students who have completed all the field training classes in a CP course and submitted a degree thesis according to the department regulations are awarded a masters degree.
Policies of the graduate school applies to any other cases other than listed above.
Students who have completed a practical course must submit the CP report in each semester. Details of the report are determined by the Dean after a review by the Masters Management Committee.
